2. Held Up (Naum Gabo Remix)
3. Held Up (Michoacan’s Lord Synthius Take)
Speak Recordings are proud to deliver the San Francisco native’s latest gem, “Held Up“. The track is a turbo-charged, new-wave tinged floor-rocker that’s laced with dark melodic synth-lines, dubby percussion and a relentless, rhythmic bassline. Michoacan lays a ghostly vocal that briefly soothes before seguing back into a bed of pulsating madness.
Naum Gabo are studio partners James Savage and Jonnie Wilkes (of Optimo). Together their remix credits span across the who’s who of indie-rock and electro artists, including Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, Hot Chip and Box Codax. The Naum Gabo mix of “Held Up” is a hard-edged electro-rocker with a grinding bassline and pulsating drum groove that breaks into an arpeggiated frenzy that’s guaranteed to energize any big room.
Lastly, Michoacan steps in to remix him self no less, taking the track on a disco-electro tinged journey that is sure to make it into the boxes of many a club DJ.
All in all this really is a superb package for their debut release on Speak Records.
