MC LowQui aka Chelone Wolf has been a key member of the drum & bass scene for many years, as MC of choice for Goldie & Metalheadz he has toured the globe continuously for the last 5 years, while here in London he co-founded inspirational club nights Essence of Chi & London Zu whilst holding down various residencies including Fabric, Ministry of Sound & Herbal. LowQui is now emigrating to Australia and he has pulled together a huge line up of his DJ & MC friends to send him off in style. All artists are donating their time for free, with proceeds from the event going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

In the main room DJ support comes from the cream of the drum & bass community, with the scene defining maestro, Goldie alongside Metalheadz founder DJ Storm. Producers of the moment Commix & Exit records boss dBridge, artists who have both produced arguably the albums of the year in 2008. Dom & Roland & Klute join forces to execute a killer set of up front beats and excessive bass. Two of the pioneers, Bailey & A-Sides provide a retrospective Jungle set. Artificial Intelligence are in danger of blowing speakers with fresh tunes from their forthcoming album, assisted by TC1. Fresh faces, beats & basslines are provided by Sabre & Alix Perez, backed up by the fast rising Subterra & Healing Crew.

The line up boasts a huge roster of MC’s across both rooms, from chart topping Stamina MC, to UK hip hop supremo DRS (Broke’n’English) to number 1 d’n’b mc contender SP:MC, to the sultry female vocal talents of Deeizm, to the biggest breaks MC, Ken Mac.Take note: this is not a blabber mouth collection of wannabe MC’s. Each host has been chosen for their ability to concisely match the mood of the the event and they will be sharing just ONE microphone – so the music will have time to breathe the whole night through.

Room 2 shows the diversity, history & future of dnb & electronic music, with a special 2 hour techno set from Doc Scott & Marcus Intalex playing their major musical influence. Skream, man of the moment and leader of the dubstep scene will provide bass. Nookie goes deep into the original house sound, while Craggz & DJ J keep the tribal 4×4 up to date and to top it all off Zero T is playing party Hip Hop.

There is something for everyone in this line up, the only problems are; How to split your body & ears between two rooms at the same time? And perhaps more importantly… what wig to wear?

The event takes place on Thursday 16th October 2008 in the birthplace of Essence of Chi, the legendary Plan B in Brixton. Both rooms are powered by Funktion One sound systems. Please spread the word.
