Another Fine evening of music and conviviality.
Terry, Jim and Kerry invite you to join us at a brand new monthly East End night of drinking and dancing on tables soundtracked by some great old soul records with a smattering of reggae, a soupcon of boogie and a dollop of modern house thrown in for good
After a misspent youth dancing to soul music at London clubs such as Crackers, Global Village and Americas Terry Farley decided he wanted in and began his illustrious DJ career playing the likes of Rene and Angela, Leroy Hutson and choice reggae nuggets to a largely black crowd in London’s west end. Then along came house music and Terry fell in love with it’s bass-heavy, head-twisting, sleazed-out, DEEPNESS. The Boys Own parties, Junior Boys Own label, Roach Motel, Fire Island and infamous Faith parties and fanzines followed as did production duty alongside long-time collaborator Pete Heller on artists ranging from Primal Scream and the Pet Shop Boys to Michael Jackson and Robert Owens. This is a man who knows his deep house, rare groove, reggae and soul onions.
Between them Jim Lister and Kerry Jean Power have played alongside the likes of Gilles Peterson, The Unabombers, Greg Wilson, Benji B, Pete Herbert and Frank Tope and are resident DJ’s at the increasingly popular underground warehouse party ‘All Ends Up’. Kerry also runs a monthly Friday night party – Feel Up – alongside Nuphonic’s Billie Jean DeVoil at The Embassy Club. With a shared love of all things house you can also expect to hear plenty of boogie, disco, soul and afrobeat. If you can dance to it, it’ll get played.
