Dr Meaker is Clive Meaker, a 28 year old producer from Bristol who makes soulful dance music under the umbrella of ‘Bristol Soul’. He follows in the successful footsteps of acts such as Portishead, Reprezent and Massive Attack. Dr Meaker heads up a new scene ready once again to show the world what it’s all about.

Bad Boy Calling is a tongue in cheek story of modern day life in inner city Britain. It’s a story about a cute girl out and about buying groceries down at her local market which turns into an evocative, challenging adventure… thanks to her own juicy assets! “My Big Booty Ass Goes Boom, Boom, Boom!”

Dr Meaker got together to write the track with vocalist Yolanda Quartey who has previously worked with Bugz In The Attic, Roots Manuva and Jocelyn Brown and is currently writing and performing with Massive Attack.

Bristol legend Rob Smith who weighs in with two remixes: The Harrogant remix is sonically awesome with dark break beats dripping all over the place and one eye on the past, while The Festive Road Mix keeps more to the jaunt of the original and heads for the floor in an upbeat dubstep style. False Flag provides one of Bristol’s other specialities – bassline. The mix is set to smash clubs up and down the country with its relentless beats and travelling bassline. The last mix starts as a dubby affair provided by Dubrovnik, one of Dr Meaker’s Bristol friends, before cranking it up a bit: perfect for a party starter.
