Noyeahno [Rag & Bone Records] May 14, 2009Posted by rocketsciencemedia in Profile.
Inspired by dubstep, drum & bass, electro, breaks and techno, Noyeahno is the moniker for seasoned DJ Stacey. Co-founder of Rag & Bone records, Noyeahno’s production fuses the fattest bass and warped electronics, all delicately hinged together with deep and haunting melody. Distinctive and unique in style she offers up the best breakbeat fuelled sets, all peppered with an acquired taste for the past and a forward thinking perspective.
When asked about her history she said, “I’ve played at big raves, little raves, illegal raves, unknown raves, field raves, crap raves and sell out raves. I’ve spun tunes in pubs, bars, parks, beaches, bedrooms, front rooms, sport centres, squats, clubs, markets and on the airwaves. I’ve played pissed, caned, asleep, awake, pregnant, with one deck, 2 decks and even no decks (?)”.
She’s one of the few women in the world of dubstep, and aside from spinning in London and abroad, she holds down a regular show with Warlock on award winning station Sub FM. She also featured on the first release from Blackmass Plastics label ‘Dirty Needles’ and has remixed Roman Flugel’s ‘Gehts Noch’ for Skint.
