“Glitterstep Remixes” – D-Code + Chan1 (Shiva Soundsystem) [SINGLE] May 21, 2009Posted by rocketsciencemedia in Press Releases.
1. D-Code’s VIP Mix
2. Sub Swara Remix
3. Pirate Soundsystem REMIX
4. Kutski And False Economy Remix
Coming on as if American Apparel had a D&B ram-raid, Glitterstep serves up exactly what it suggests. Synths with an 80s feel, shiny with over-stretched leggings and hot stepping ’til stilettos snap.
D-Code jumped back in on the original and injected his newly developed live punk sound, streaking its mascara and giving it less of a fresh face. The VIP mix is still well pretty though.
New York’s Sub Swara flip the script with their genre bending, sub-wringing remix. Mary Anne Hobbs called their appearance on her show a “contender for the mix of the year” and we’d say the same about this dubwise-techno monster.
The genre-blurring continues firmly back in the UK with the Bassline bad-bwoys of East London, Pirate Soundsystem serving up 4×4 beats but keeping the bass deadly. Those leggings will tear.
Radio 1’s hard dance and hardcore star Kutski joins forces with False Economy to provide heavy relief to the jump up D&B massive dem. The beauty still shines through all those layers of foundation.
This release has had support from across the musical spectrum: Laurent Garnier, Pendulum, Tayo, Annie Mac, Kissy Sell Out and Pete Tong. Taken from the forthcoming Shiva Soundsystem album “PHASMATIS IN MACHINA” which sees D-Code delving further into his new live sound and death metal vocals from the Foreign Beggars.
