AA. Fangface

A new decade and a big year ahead for the D-Style camp; and what better way to start it off than with a debut release on the label from two of d’n’b’s biggest producers!

All the way from Brazil, Marky and S.P.Y have lent their production skills to many a diverse and high quality project. A simple formula – these guys don’t need an introduction – they let the music do the talking.

A. Jakes (Feat.TC) – Swerve (Marky & S.P.Y Remix)
With the original of this anthemic release coming out on The Jakes Project in 2009, Marky played this tune in almost every set for about a year. After giving the tune so much love, the natural option was to give in and let him remix it! And boy, have he and S.P.Y turned it into a serious weapon for the dancefloor! Keeping Swerve’s latin flavour intact, prepare yourself for when the sub-bass drops – this one’s going to make the foundations of the building wobble. Maintaining Jakes’ unmistakable rhymes flowing over the top, keep your hand close to the turntable for the inevitable shouts for a rewind on this one.

Mixing things up a little bit, here’s something different from the D Style imprint. Marky & S.P.Y have served us up with a truly filthy roller. A deceptively light-hearted intro brings the tune in on a more easy-going tip, making way for a driving bassline that’ll have you pursing your lips, dropping your head and rocking from side to side. Never losing sight of their background, the Brazilian-boys fuse the funky percussion with the gritty base perfectly – whatever your flavour, this needs to be in your record box.
